Posted on June 18, 2022

MORGAN HILL — A magnitude 3.4 earthquake was felt at about 1:27 p.m. Saturday in Santa Clara County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake, which had an epicenter about 6.2 miles northeast of Morgan Hill near Henry Coe State Park, had an initial depth just over 2.8 miles, the USGS reported.

Authorities did not immediately report any injuries or damage. Earthquakes with a magnitude between 3.0 and 3.9 “very rarely” produce damage but can often noticeably shake indoor objects, according to the USGS website.
